SUSPECT: Mack, Lapatrick, 20 years of age, Oakland resident

DETAILS:


On 09-16-12 approximately 10:48 PM, the San Leandro Police Department received a 911 call of a burglary in progress in the 100 block of Oakes Blvd. The reporting party advised that the suspect was fighting with the victim who was trying to stop the suspect from fleeing. As officers arrived on scene they were able to take custody of the suspect who was being held down on the ground by the victim. The suspect was identified as 20 year old Lapatrick Mack, Oakland resident. Mack was found by the victim inside the victim’s garage and attempted to flee upon being discovered. Mack was arrested for burglary and transported to jail.

Lt. Tudor said, “We would never encourage citizens to take action and put their safety at risk. That is a personal choice. In this case, the brave actions of the victim allowed for us to make an arrest of a burglary suspect who was preying upon San Leandro neighborhoods.
