Police and Fire Departments Investigate House Fire with Body Inside
At 3:43 a.m. Tuesday the Jackson Police and Fire Departments responded to a residential fire at 145 Silverdale Cove. A man's body was discovered in the master bedroom. A police investigator, the fire marshal and an assistant county medical examiner responded to the scene.
Police tentatively identified the man as the homeowner, Hunter Hodge, age 35. His body was transported to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Nashville for positive identification.
The fire marshal concluded that the fire was intentionally set.
Based on physical evidence at the scene and situational circumstances, police believe that he suffered a self-inflicted, fatal, gunshot wound.
