A self-proclaimed gang member was caught in the act of criminal graffiti vandalism in the men's room of the Sheriff's Academy in Whittier on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 5.
A Sheriff's lieutenant went into the men's room at the Sheriff's Academy and soon heard a scratching sound coming from the stalls. When he looked to see what was causing the sound he saw the suspect writing letters on the stall door with a black marker.
The lieutenant detained the suspect for vandalism and Norwalk Sheriff's Station deputies were called to the Academy. The lieutenant was wearing a green uniform jacket with the word 'SHERIFF" on the front and back.
The suspect was identified as 31-year old Jordan Trevor Lucas, a resident of Whittier.
The suspect told deputies that he had taken a short-cut across the Academy grounds and hadn't noticed there was someone else in the bathroom when he vandalized the stall door.
He was booked at Norwalk Sheriff’s Station for one count of misdemeanor vandalism. He has a court appearance on November 29, 2012 at Whittier Court.
