Murder Suspect Safely Surrenders to Oakland Police Investigators Following Community Help 
On September 5, 2012, at about 5:20 pm, Larry Alford surrendered to Oakland Police Department investigators. Alford was wanted in connection with the homicide of Demetria Spears that occurred August 25, 2012, in the 1900 block of 85th Avenue.
His surrender to authorities came after investigators spent hours talking to his family and acquaintances. Investigators are thankful for the community’s involvement in helping to persuade Alford to safely self-surrender. Alford has been arrested and charged in this case.
