Homicides – Between 8/19-8/25, there was one gang-related homicide. In 2012 YTD, there have been 20 homicides. In 2011 YTD, there were 17 homicides.

• 8/25, 2154 hrs in the 1300 block of N. Willowbrook Av. Gang-related

Rape – Between 8/19-8/25, there were no reported rapes. In 2012 YTD, there have been 21 reported rapes. In 2011 YTD, there were 40 reported rapes.

Robberies – Between 8/19-8/25, there were 10 reported robberies. There were three armed robberies & seven strong-arm robberies. Five of the seven strong-arm robberies were chain snatches. There were three incidents along Long Beach Bl, b/t 1500-1700 hrs (two were chain snatches). In 2012 YTD, total robberies are up approx. 5% from 2011.

Aggravated Assaults – Between 8/19-8/25, there were 14 reported incidents of aggravated assault. Those incidents include three incidents of domestic violence. During this period, there were 5 gang-related ADW-Gun incidents (3 incidents occurred in District III & 2 incidents occurred in District IV). In 2012 YTD, aggravated assaults are down approx. 7% from 2011.

Residential Burglary – Between 8/19-8/25, there were 11 reported residential burglaries. More than half of the incidents occurred b/t 1000-1500 hrs. There were 4 incidents in District III during this time period (RD 2835 & RD 2836 each had 2 reported incidents). In 2012 YTD, residential burglaries are down approx. 25% from 2011.

Comm/Other Structure Burglary – Between 8/19-8/25, there was one reported comm/other structure burglaries. In 2012 YTD, there have been 106 reported incidents; down approx. 28% from 2011.

• 8/21, 0330 hrs 500 Block of W Walnut St, a red newer model pickup truck entered the parking area of the location. Two MW suspects (nfd) exited the vehicle. The suspects had a rope which they latched onto the security cameras and were able to pull them down using the vehicle. The door lock to the location was damaged where the suspects attempted to enter.


Grand Theft Auto – Between 8/19-8/25, there were 15 reported stolen vehicles. RD 2812, RD 2871, & RD 2824 each had 2 reported stolen vehicles during this time period. In 2012 YTD, GTAs are down approx. 9% from 2011.

Vehicle Burglary – Between 8/19-8/25, there were 6 reported vehicle burglaries. 2/3 of reported incidents occurred between 2200-0300 hrs. Three reported incidents occurred along E. Rosecrans Av (b/t Long Beach Bl & White Av). In 2012 YTD, there have been 211 reported incidents; down approx. 36% from 2011.
