Suspicious circumstances, infant death. 
On Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at approximately 1405 hours, Compton deputies responded to Long Beach Memorial Hospital regarding a suspected child abuse call.
The victim, a two month old infant, suffered impact trauma to his head and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The parents of the victim were transported by deputy personnel to Compton Station and were interviewed by Homicide Detectives.
During the interview, the mother of the victim admitted to shaking the infant and causing the death of the child. The suspect was subsequently arrested for the murder of her child. Detective Bureau personnel are handling the investigation.
