Unknown cause for calls to OPD Communications of loud explosion on evening of August 21st. 
This community message is a response to multiple queries regarding a loud explosion reported to police on the evening of August 21st.
On August 21, 2012 at about 10:30pm, OPD received at least 13 emergency calls regarding a loud explosion. Calls came in from residents in the Glenview, Dimond or Montclair/Hill areas of Oakland. Although OPD units were dispatched to multiple locations, and ultimately searched wide areas, the cause of the disturbance was not found.
