Nixle Information

The San Leandro Police Department is committed to sharing as much information as possible to our community. We use Nixle as one of the methods to effectively keep community members informed. This information ranges from crime bulletins, traffic alerts and anything we think community members might want to know.

Some recipients may not want all the information sent to them. If you only want crime related activity and emergency information sent to you, you will need to adjust your personal settings with Nixle.

This message is being sent to all Nixle users as an advisoryt. This is the most effective way to make sure all the Nixle users receive this message until they are able to adjust their settings.

You will need to login to your Nixle Account and click on settings. The agencies you monitor will be displayed. There is a column to the right with the type of messages you chose to receive on your mobile phone. To the left of that allows you to click on whether you want to have the messages sent to your email. (See example)

There is another setting that may also benefit you. This setting allows you to adjust the hours you want to receive the messages. If you would like to adjust this setting, go to your individual account information and scroll down. You will see the option there.

We received some feedback from community members about the information they have been receiving. Users expressed they only wanted to receive certain types of information. This feedback is what lead us to providing users with this useful setting information.
