The company anticipates that repairs will last for 24 hours and asks that customers conserve and curtail outdoor water use until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25.

New Jersey American Water customers are asked to conserve water in the following municipalities served by the water main:

Flemington Borough
Raritan Township
Readington Township (in part)

Plans to repair the main began last Thursday evening when a small leak was found on the transmission line. During repairs, New Jersey American Water will need to take the transmission main out of service. Capacity of the company’s water distribution system will be reduced; however, no impact to customers’ water service is anticipated.
