Heat Advisory for Marshall County

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Marshall County and the surrounding areas. The Heat Advisory will be in effect today from 11am to 8pm. Temperatures will be in the upper 90's to near 100 with heat index values ranging between 100 and 105 degrees. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. The elderly, children and people who spend long periods of time outdoors during the day, and those without air conditioning are particularly vulnerable to the effects of heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air conditioned room and stay out of the sun. Remember to check on neighbors and relatives who may be at risk. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by heat or experiencing symptoms of heat related illness should call 9-1-1 immediately.
