Time Period: July 1st – July 7th
Homicides – Between 7/1-7/7, there was one gang-related homicide. In 2012 YTD, there have been 15 homicides. In 2011 YTD, there were 17 homicides.
• Incident occurred on 7/1, 0224 hrs in the 500 block of S. Long Beach Bl. Gang-Related.
Rape – Between 7/1-7/7, there were no reported rapes. In 2012 YTD, there have been 18 reported rapes. In 2011 YTD, there were 29 reported rapes.
Robberies – Between 7/1-7/7, there were 10 reported robberies. There were four armed robberies & six strong-arm robberies; one of the strong-arm robberies was a chain snatch. In District I, there were four reported incidents during this time period. In 2012 YTD, total robberies are up approx. 12% from 2011.

Aggravated Assaults – Between 7/1-7/7, there were 13 reported incidents of aggravated assault. Those incidents include 8 incidents of domestic violence, and one incident of child assault. During this period, there was one ADW-Gun incident. In 2012 YTD, aggravated assaults are down approx. 16% from 2011.
Residential Burglary – Between 7/1-7/7, there were 7 reported residential burglaries. 5 of the 7 incidents occurred between 0900-1400 hrs. In District III, there were 3 reported incidents during this period. In 2012 YTD, residential burglaries are down approx. 30% from 2011.
Comm/Other Structure Burglary – Between 7/1-7/7, there were 3 reported comm/other structure burglaries. Two reported incidents occurred in District IV during this period. In 2012 YTD, there have been 87 reported incidents; down approx. 16% from 2011.
Grand Theft Auto – Between 7/1-7/7, there were 22 reported stolen vehicles. 50% of incidents occurred between the hours of 2200-0400 hrs. In District III, 7 vehicles were reported stolen during this time period. During this time period, District I & E. Rancho Dominguez each had 4 reported stolen vehicles. In 2012 YTD, GTAs are down approx. 8% from 2011.
Vehicle Burglary – Between 7/1-7/7, there was one reported vehicle burglary. In 2012 YTD, there have been 169 reported incidents; down approx. 36% from 2011.
