Emergency Burning Restrictions will be going into effect for DNR Forest Fire Protection Areas throughout much of Central Wisconsin beginning at 0001 hours on July 13, 2012 and will be in effect until further notice. In Wood County this includes the townships of Saratoga, Port Edwards, Remington, Hiles, Cary, Dexter, Cranmoor, Seneca and Grand Rapids. Incorporated cities and villages and the Northern half of Wood County are not within the DNR Forest Fire Protection Areas but these same dry conditions exist throughout the County of Wood.
