DETAILS:

Suspect Description: Black male adult, 20-25 years of age, dark clothing and wearing a baseball hat.

Victim Description: Black male wearing a light colored shirt

On 07-08-12 at 6:18PM, The San Leandro Police Department responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 15555 E14th St., regarding a shooting in progress. As Officers arrived on scene they were told by witnesses that the suspect ran towards the Bayfair Bart Station. Officers searched the area for the suspect and met with negative results. The victim in this incident also fled and it is unknown if he sustained any injuries. Based on witness statements the suspect shot at the victim multiple times with a semi automatic handgun in the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness. Area hospitals were checked for the victim but met with negative results. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time pending further investigation.
