SUSPECT(S): Tiffany Waters, 28 year old, Transient
DETAILS:
On 07-08-12 at 12:58PM, The San Leandro Police Department responded to the 15200 block of Upton Ave, regarding a residential burglary. As officers arrived on scene they learned that the victim returned home to her residence and noticed it had been burglarized. She also noticed that the suspect, later identified as Tiffany Waters, was near her residence and was wearing some of her (victims) clothing. The victim followed Waters to a nearby homeless encampment near highway 238 and Hesperian Blvd, where the suspect tried to hide the loss. Officers responded to the encampment and located the victim’s purse and cash that was taken during the burglary. It appears Waters gained entry into the residence through an unlocked rear door. Waters also left behind some clothing inside of the victim’s residence.
Lt. Tudor said “The quick actions and observations by the victim were extremely valuable for us to locate and arrest the suspect”
