Sheriff's Office Activity for 7/3/12 through 7/4/12. 
-Investigators recovered approximately $7000 of oilfield equipment related to a theft that occurred in 2009. A local resident provided the information that lead to the recovery.
-2700 blk Hwy 114: Traffic Complaint.
-100 blk Veretto Rd: Fireworks Complaint.
-FM 303 at FM 301: Possession of Controlled Substance. A juvenile was arrested after approximately one gram of a controlled substance was located following a search. The juvenile was transported to the Hockley County Law Enforcement Center, processed, and released to Juvenile Probation Officers to be transported to Lubbock County Juvenile Justice center.
-East Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Opdyke: Suspicious Person.
-2300 blk South West Ave: Fireworks Complaint.
-6500 bk Wolf Rd, Ropesville: Traffic Complaint. Deputies were dispatched to the area to attempt to locate individuals racing on the roadway. Deputies checked the area but did not locate the vehicles.
-South Hwy 385 at Terry County Line: Assist THP Troopers. Deputies provided traffic control asisstance for a vehcile crash near the county line.
-Hwy 114 at Opdyke Gin Rd: Fireworks Complaint.
-FM 303 at Tumbleweed, Sundown: Grass Fire. Deputies were notified of a small grass fire in the area that was started while individuals were igniting fireworks. The fire was put out prior to the arrival a deputy.
