Do to the heat advisory that was issued for Wood County by the national weather service, Wood County will be opening cooling stations based upon need. If you are in need of assistance please contact the following fire department in the area closest to you. In Wisconsin Rapids please call 715-421-6277, Marshfield please call 715-486-2094 extension 0, and Pittsville please call 715-884-6514. The fire department personnel will then direct you to where the cooling station will be located. Cooling stations will be open from 11 am – 9 pm through Friday.
