PROLONGED PERIOD OF VERY HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS EXPECTED THIS WEEK...

A HOT AND HUMID AIR MASS WILL CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST WISCONSIN THIS AFTERNOON. THE HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST THROUGH THE WORK WEEK. THE COMBINATION OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL BRING HEAT INDICES INTO THE 95 TO 105
DEGREE RANGE. AT THIS TIME IT APPEARS THAT THURSDAY WILL BE THE HOTTEST AND LIKELY THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE DAY OF THE WEEK.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREEN BAY HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM CDT FRIDAY.

* TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE LOW TO MID 90S NEAR HIGHWAY 29 TO THE MID TO UPPER 90S OVER THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE FOX VALLEY.

* HEAT INDICES AT THIS LEVEL INDICATE THAT HEAT-RELATED ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS STAY IN AN AIR CONDITIONED ROOM STAY OUT OF THE SUN AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.

TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN POSSIBLE RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT STROKE. WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING WHEN
POSSIBLE AND DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.

TO REDUCE RISK DURING OUTDOOR WORK THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDS SCHEDULING FREQUENT REST BREAKS IN SHADED OR AIR CONDITIONED ENVIRONMENTS. ANYONE OVERCOME BY HEAT SHOULD BE MOVED TO A COOL AND SHADED LOCATION. HEAT STROKE IS AN EMERGENCY CALL 9 1 1.
