SUSPECT(S): Adraine McFadden, 25 year old Oakland resident.

DETAILS:

About 7:07 PM Officers responded to the area of San Leandro Blvd. and Parrott St. for the report of a robbery. The victim stated she was walking on San Leandro Blvd. near Parrott St. While distracted talking on her cell phone, the suspect bumped into the victim and forcibly removed the cell phone from her hand. The suspect ran to a waiting vehicle with the stolen cell phone and fled the area.

The victim advised Officers she had purchased the “Find my Iphone App.” (Phone App available to users to provide the GPS location for their cell phones)

The GPS coordinates directed undercover officers to the area 88th Ave. / D St, Oakland.

The Officers located a subject matching the suspect’s description walking in the area. The suspect was detained and later identified by the victim. The suspect was arrested and the stolen Iphone was recovered from his person.

Lt. Brandt said, “This is a great example of community members and law enforcement using technology to assist us in solving crime.”
