OPD recovers suspected stolen property and firearms during investigation of a robbery having occurred in the 400 block of MacArthur Blvd.

On June 15, 2012, the Oakland Police Department served a search warrrant and recovered a cache of suspected stolen electronics, five firearms, and an indoor marijuana grow operation.

Patrol officers went to the residence, located in the 900 block of Aileen Street, to investigate a street robbery that had occurred in the 400 block of MacArthur Blvd. Information developed from the on-going investigation allowed the officers to obtain a search warrant for the home.

After safely entering the home, officers located an illegal assault rifle, an illegal machine gun, three pistols, illegal high capacity ammunition magazines, and laser weapon sights. Approximately 100 marijuana plants and dried marijuana were also found in the home. The investigation is ongoing, but the suspect, a convicted felon, was on scene and immediately arrested.
