LASD Volunteer on Patrol Academy Class #21

On May 26, 2012, 50 community members graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Volunteer on Patrol Academy, class 21.
50 volunteers completed over thirty-six hours of training which was held at Martin Luther King Medical Center and Rancho Los Amigos Hospital. The academy included training in department policy/procedures, sheriff radio procedures/codes, personal safety, patrol tactics and driver training.
6 of the volunteers will be working at the Marina del Rey Station, serving the unincorporated areas of Marina del Rey, Ladera Heights, View Park and Windsor Hills. They will be patrolling in a marked Sheriff’s Volunteer car and will assist deputies in a variety of tasks which include performing vacation checks on residences and patrol schools and parks.
