Original news release sent 2:45 p.m. June 10, 2012:
The Arlington Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the person or people who could be responsible for the deaths of a married couple found in their apartment early this morning. Arlington homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of a man and woman, who are in their 70s and 60s respectively. Officers were dispatched to a welfare check in the 3600 block of Waverly Drive at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012. A family member called 911 after finding a window open at the couple’s home. Officers arrived, entered the apartment, and found the husband and wife inside the home. Although the deaths are being investigated as homicides, the cause and manner of death have not yet been verified. That information will be provided by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner once a determination has been made.

The names of the husband and wife will also be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, once their identities are officially confirmed and next of kin have been notified. It is early in this investigation and detectives are looking at the possible reasons anyone would want to harm these two.

This afternoon, the Crime Scene and Homicide units continue to gather evidence and details about the last moments of this couple’s life. Doing so could lead officers to the person or people responsible for their deaths. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Arlington Police Detective Byron Stewart at 817 459-5691, or call Crime Stoppers at (817) 469-TIPS (8477) to submit an anonymous tip.

The two deaths are being investigated as homicides #8 and #9 in Arlington this year.
