Fatal Traffic Collision

On May 28, 2012, Century Station deputies responded to a call of a traffic collision at 119th Street and Mona Boulevard. Upon arrival, the deputies saw two vehicles, one of which had overturned, that were involved in the collision. There were two young children in the street that had been ejected from one of the cars. A third female adult was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Medical Center. Both of these children were subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics. As the deputies began to investigate, they determined one of the drivers had fled the scene on foot. The deputies quickly located the suspect hiding underneath a parked car and arrested him. The California Highway Patrol responded and took control of the investigation. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision as a Hit and Run, and Vehicular Manslaughter. Based on the initial investigation, it appears alcohol may have played a role in the collision.
