Anti-Prostitution Enforcement Operation in Walnut Park
Acting on information from the public, Century Station personnel conducted an anti-prostitution enforcement operation on the evening of June 1st. The operation was focused primarily on Pacific Boulevard, between Florence Avenue and Broadway Street. Approximately 40 personnel participated, including members of Century Station, Century Station Volunteers, and the Century Station Clergy Council. The operation utilized a three-phase enforcement plan that included intelligence gathering, violent crime and gang activity enforcement, and prostitution and lewd activity specific enforcement. Nine prostitutes, one male adult "john," and one juvenile were arrested for various charges including vehicle code violations, weapons charges, prostitution, and lewd activity charges. This is a great example of Century station’s effort toward addressing the concerns of the community we serve.
