Operation Dry Water: national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) detection and enforcement
05/30/2012
From Friday June 22th to Sunday June 24th, 2012, Marina del Rey Sheriff Station will participate in Operation Dry Water, which is a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) detection and enforcement. This campaign is aimed at reducing the number of alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities. It is the mission of the LASD Marine Unit to foster a stronger and more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use on the water in an effort to educate boaters about boating under the influence.
Marina del Rey Marine Patrol will increase its presence on the water during Operation Dry Water by conducting traffic stops, and BUI sobriety check points. Additional information can be found at http://www.operationdrywater.org.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Marina del Rey Station, will be looking for boaters under the influence June 22-24 as part of Operation Dry Water. Do you know BUI facts? http://ow.ly/4Zq6k
