Charlesbank Road Burglary

On 05/30/2012 at approximately 1:40 a.m. officers responded to the100 BLOCK Charlesbank Rd. for a report of a break and entry in progress.

On arrival officers learned the house had just been broken into. According to one of the victims, he awoke to a man standing over him holding a knife. The suspect was yelling at him to give him the money.

The victim sat up in bed, grabbed his wallet and gave the suspect cash. The suspect then began demanding more money or gold while becoming more aggressive towards the victim. The victim stated that the suspect pushed him down on his couch and that is when victim got up and ran out of his room, down stairs and into the kitchen where he began yelling for his roommates to call the police.

The suspect is described as a white male (possibly middle-eastern), tall, skinny, short dark hair, minor scruffy facial hair, a white T-shirt, jeans. The suspect spoke English but not very well, and was sweating profusely.

It appears that the suspect may have entered the house through an unlocked back door, which leads to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, before heading to the second floor.

Police later found in the driveway on Charlesbank Rd., the kitchen knife used in the in the crime.

A State Police Trooper and his K9 arrived on scene and tracked the area with negative results.

While units were checking the area an officer spotted a person partially matching the description of the suspect. This suspect was standing in the driveway in 100 block of Washington St. That person fled in the backyard towards the direction of Tremont St. and was not found.

Police later found 3 vehicles on Charlesbank Road broken into.
