May 26th DUI checkpoint results.
DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint nets 0 DUI Arrests
The Santa Rosa Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Saturday May 26, 2012, as part of Santa Rosa’s commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was the sixth of many that will be conducted throughout the year in Santa Rosa. The locations of Saturday’s checkpoints were on Guerneville Road at Ridley Avenue and Steele Lane at Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa. The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
A total of 918 vehicles passed through the checkpoint during the operation. No DUI drivers were arrested. 8 drivers were screened for sobriety tests. There were 58 drivers who were screened to check their driver’s license status. Of those, 21 drivers were determined to have been driving without a driver’s license issued and another 6 drivers were driving on suspended driver’s licenses. All unlicensed and suspended license drivers were cited to appear in court. A total of 5 vehicles were impounded related to the license suspensions.
