Death Investigation Update
The South Pasadena Police Department and investigating detectives have received preliminary information from the LA County Coroner's Office that the death of Miguel Santamaria at his residence in the 1600 block of Amberwood Dr. was a result of natural causes.
In addition to the death investigation, SPPD detectives are currently conducting a residential burglary investigation from the same location. SPPD detectives are currently operating under the theory that a burglary occurred to Mr. Santamaria's residence sometime after his death. There was no forced entry into the location.
Missing from the residence are Mr. Santamaria's vehicle, a 2001 Honda Civic (4-door, green, CA Lic# 4PIM316, still outstanding), his cell phone, wallet, laptop computers and dog. Mr. Santamaria's dog has since been located at a shelter in the City of Downey.
SPPD Detective Bill Earley is asking for anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact him directly on his cell phone at 626-318-5552.
