AVOID the 13 Sonoma County DUI Task Force
DUI/DL CHECKPOINT RESULTS
30 Apprehended at Checkpoint in Rohnert Park
Rohnert Park, California – On Friday night, May 25th, 2012 between the hours of 6:00pm and 12:00am Saturday morning, the AVOID the 13 Sonoma County DUI Task Force conducted two DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoints in the City of Rohnert Park. The two checkpoints were set up to screen EB and WB drivers on Rohnert Park Expressway near State Farm Drive. The purpose of these checkpoint operations was to inform the motoring public of the dangers associated with impaired driving and to take enforcement action against impaired drivers and those driving with a suspended license or no license at all.
The checkpoint yielded the following results:
2,375 vehicles through the two checkpoints
2,238 drivers screened by officers for signs of DUI and license checks
82 drivers directed into nearby parking area for further investigation.
30 drivers arrested.
3 drivers arrested for DUI
16 drivers arrested for driving with a suspended license
11 drivers arrested were for driving without a license
14 vehicles towed from checkpoint
11 vehicles impounded for 30 days.
Enforcement results from the county-wide efforts for Avoid the 13 Sonoma County DUI Task Force will be reported later today when the 13 agencies report their arrest and alcohol involved collision numbers.
Funding for this program and the AVOID the 13 DUI Task Force has been provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
