Human Remains found on May 23, 2012 identified as Denika Jones, missing since May 15, 2012
On the afternoon of May 23, 2012 a person was walking through a wooded area off of Gregory Street when they came across human remains. The area is just outside of the city limits. Cumberland County Deputies contacted the Fayetteville Police Department due to the body’s proximity to the city limits. The medical examiner has positively identified the remains as belonging to Denika Jones. At this time, detectives are conducting an investigation into her homicide and more information will be released as it becomes available.
