Possible Suspect: African American Male wearing black clothing.

On 05-22-12 approximately 8:30PM, the San Leandro Police Department received a 911 call regarding an assault that occurred in the 15200 block of Shining Star Lane. Officers arrived on scene and located a female victim. The victim had lacerations on her face and head and was bleeding heavily from the injuries she sustained during the assault. The victim was immediately transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

The San Leandro Police Department has learned that the victim was watching television in her bedroom when the suspect gained entry into her residence through a downstairs window. Once the suspect was inside of the residence, he entered the bedroom where the victim was located and struck her several times in the face in head with an unknown object. The victim was able to fight off the suspect and scream for help. The suspect fled the residence and the victim was able to exit her house and receive help from area residents.

Lt. Tudor said “We are examining evidence and asking anybody to come forward with any information that will assist us making an arrest in this case. The victim is truly courageous and had a strong will to survive to overcome a potentially deadly assault”.
