Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that his deputies handled a personal injury crash on Cassopolis Road just south of Calvin Hill Street in Calvin Township, Cass County MI on May 21st, 2012 at 5:05 PM.

Witnesses report that Mike James, 43 from Cassopolis, was traveling north bound on Cassopolis Road when he crossed the center line and struck a south bound vehicle. The south bound vehicle was driven by 53 year old Thomas Prawat of Elkhart IN. Mr. James was airlifted to South Bend Memorial for treatment of his injuries. Mr. Prawat was released at the scene of the accident.

Penn Fire, Life Care Ambulance and Medflight, assisted deputies at the scene.

Alcohol was not a factor in the accident which remains under investigation.
