At about 12:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 16, 2012, Century Sheriff's Station personnel were notified of a kidnapping of a 27-year-old male resident of Lynwood, that occurred around noon on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Major Crimes detectives recovered the victim at 7:50 A.M., Wednesday, in his own vehicle, along with three male Hispanic adult suspects. The suspects were taken into custody, and the victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
In an effort to secure additional evidence, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Major Crimes Bureau detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 6100 block of Rugby Avenue, Huntington Park, where it is believed the victim was held. Because it was not known if there were additional suspects, it was necessary to contain the immediate area, including blocking off the streets, and for deputies to approach with extreme caution. Investigators are still processing the scene, and it is undetermined as to why the victim was chosen as a target.
The three male Hispanic suspects were transported to Century Sheriff's Station, where they were booked for Kidnapping, and being held in lieu of $1,000,000.00 bail.
Because of the on-going investigation, and nature of the crime, limited information is available at this time.
