We had two residential burglaries where the suspect(s) entered open/unlocked garages and stole high end bikes. Approximately two weeks ago deputies arrested a group who were responsible for many recent bike thefts. Apparently there is another group. The suspects hit the area east of Oakridge/Via Princessa. A total of 4 bikes were taken from two separate houses. I believe these occurred on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. A white utility van with no windows was seen in the area around this time. I am urging all residents to keep their garages closed when unattended.
We had three vehicles stolen in our area. Two were taken from Springbrook Ave/Drayton. We have had multiple incidents on Springbrook where items were stolen from the storage yards. No one should be on the property after 8:00 p.m. There will be added patrol checks in the area. The other stolen vehicle was taken from Cavern Ct. The vehicle was recovered two blocks away and held for prints.
We had three thefts from unlocked vehicles. There was no trend and all of the thefts seemed random. I am again urging all of the residents of Saugus to lock their vehicles when leaving it unattended. Please take any items of value with you or move them out of sight.
