Check your Nixle account for information on Solicitors
The police department wants to let our citizens know that there has been an increase in calls on solicitors walking around selling items door to door. Please remember that a solicitor, someone selling items door-to-door, must have a sellers permit from the city. In addition, some people will pose as door-to-door salespeople in order to “case” a home for a burglary. Here are a few points to remember when someone comes to your door step to solicit:
1) If you do not feel comfortable answering the door, tell the person to go away and that you are not interested. Watch from a window to make sure they leave and report any suspicious activity.
2) If you choose to answer the door, be sure to ask if they have a permit from the Pleasant Hill.
3) Never allow an unknown individual to come inside your house!
4) If you feel the person is acting suspicious in any manner, get a good description of the person and a direction of travel and call Pleasant Hill Police as soon as possible.
