A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a local woman on multiple drug-related charges late Saturday by a Garland County Sheriff’s Department deputy.
Patricia Spring Green, 40, who lists an address of 124 Curtis Lane, was taken into custody shortly after 8:30 p.m. and charged with felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia, each punishable by up to six years in prison.
She was also charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of Hydrocodone pills and warrants for failure to appear and failure to pay out of Garland County District Court.
Green, who was previously convicted of a felony drug charge in 2005 and sentenced to drug court, was later released on $6,880 bond and is set to appear May 29 in district court.
According to reports, GCSD deputy Elwood McConnell was southbound in the 3300 block of Highway 7 when he saw a northbound 1991 Mazda pickup with no taillights and made a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as Green, had no driver’s license or proof of insurance and was acting “very nervous” with “exaggerated body movements.” After discovering the two warrants for her arrest, she was taken into custody.
McConnell asked her if there was anything in the vehicle he needed to know about and she told him she had a bottle of Hydrocodone pills in her purse.
He found the bottle, which contained 28 pills, along with two syringes, one filled with one CC of a clear liquid and one with 30 CCs of a red liquid, a spoon and two baggies. The report notes some of the liquid was identified as meth.
