The flags at City Hall are lowered today to honor the men and women of law enforcement that have lost their lives protecting yours.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is held annually in the United States on May 15 in honor of federal, state and local officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, Peace Officers Memorial Day occurs during National Police Week and pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
