The City of Chula Vista is releasing its 2012-2013 proposed budget and looking for public review and comment. A public workshop/open house is scheduled on Monday, May 14 from 6-7:30 p.m. The workshop will take place in Council Chambers located at 276 Fourth Avenue, and bilingual English/Spanish staff will be available.

City staff will provide an overview presentation at 6 p.m. and will be available to answer questions and take input. The City has made great progress in climbing out of a huge budget hole caused by the recession and reduced property and sales taxes collected. The proposed budget maintains existing levels of core services and continues fiscal strategies that will help improve the City’s financial future. The final proposed budget will be presented to City council on May 24.
