DUI Saturation Patrol Results
Chula Vista - Officers from the Chula Vista Police Department conducted DUI Saturation Patrols on Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th, 2012 within the City of Chula Vista.
The DUI Saturation Patrols were aimed at increasing public awareness, decreasing the number of drivers who drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as well as insuring drivers have a valid driver's license
During these operations, traffic stops were conducted on 15 vehicles. 7 drivers were evaluated for driving under the influence. 3 of the drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. 1 of the drivers arrested for DUI had an outstanding warrant for DUI. 1 vehicle was impounded for driver arrested and 1 was impounded for 30 days for suspended license.
This was considered a successful DUI Saturation Patrol. The Chula Vista Police Department is continuing its efforts to keep our community safe by detecting and deterring impaired drivers. The Chula Vista Police Department is asking for the public’s continued assistance throughout the year to Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1.
