ONE INJURED IN TRAFFIC CRASH

Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr reports that his deputies handled a personal injury crash on Gumwood Road just south of US 12 on May 12th, 2012 at 03:08 AM in Milton Township, Cass County Michigan.

Mr. David Shafer, 44 of Niles, MI, was traveling north on Gumwood Road on his moped when he ran off the roadway and lost control in the gravel. He overturned his moped and was ejected off of it. He was transported to South Bend Memorial for his injuries.

Mr. Shafer was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash which remains under investigation.
