· On Wednesday, Arlington PD officially said goodbye to nine police retirees with more than 204 years of combined service. Thank you for your service, Barry Hines, Jerry Hataway, Susan Hataway, Wayne Isbell, Blake Miller, Linda Willis, Johnny Spruiel, Julie Spann, Betty Williams and our previous retirees.

· In recognition of 2012 Police Week, the police department hosted the annual APD Memorial Service at Heroes Park yesterday. The families and friends of our fallen officers attended to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and died in the line of duty. In the more than 100-year history of our department, Arlington has lost eight officers in the line of duty. Each day Arlington Police Officers patrol, investigate and work to make Arlington safe for all of our citizens and visitors.

· This morning Arlington had the honor of promoting a large group of supervisors. Congratulations to new lieutenants Leo Daniels, Carol Riddle, Thomas Kiker, Brian Johnson, John McGrath and Tracie Baker; and new sergeants Jeffrey Fobbs, Charles Brown, Dana Richerson, Cameron Huggins, Brad Pearce, Jared Ross and Andy Pina.
