***UPDATED 5-11-2012, 7:50 AM***On 5-10-12, Juan Rincon died in a local hospital. Justice of the Peace Nancy Bosquez has ordered an autopsy. The case is still under investigation by the APD Traffic Investigation Unit.
On May 5, 2012 at approximately 10:22 PM, officers were dispatched to the 3600 Block of S Western on a motor vehicle rear-ending a motorcycle type accident. Upon their arrival the found Juan Rincon, WM, 49 had been driving a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle north bound in the 3600 block of S Western. He was rear ended by the driver of a 2002 Chevy Impala. The driver of the Impala fled from the scene on foot. He was later located by officers, brought to the scene, and identified by a witness as the hit-and-run driver. Rincon was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Rafael Monteagudo, WM, 26 was arrested and booked into Randall County Jail for Intoxicated Assault and Failure to Stop and Render Aid. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigations Unit of the Amarillo Police Dept.
