Cass County Sheriff Joseph M Underwood Jr is reporting that his deputies are investigating a traffic crash that occurred at Bell Rd near US 12 in Milton Twp on 5/8/12 at 1605 hours. The deputies on scene stated that a vehicle driven by Matthew Wilson (21 yrs old from Niles) was traveling East Bound on Bell Rd at a high rate of speed. The vehicle could not negotiate the curve in the roadway and went off the road. The vehicle hit an embankment and went airborne. The vehicle then landed approximately 15 feet later and hit a mailbox. Mr. Wilson was treated at the scene by the Edwardsburg Ambulance and was released. Alcohol was a factor in the traffic crash and it remains under investigation at this time. Assisting the Sheriff’s Office at the scene was Niles Township Fire Department.
