Newhall: Zone 6 Update - Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information
Snapshot for the week of 05-06-12
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station
Crime Prevention Unit
We must all work together to strengthen our partnership, avoid becoming easy targets of property crimes, and send a "Not in Santa Clarita" message.
The latest trends in Newhall are showing the following:
We had four theft from vehicle crimes during the past few days. All four of these crimes occurred in the Valle Del Oro area. In one of these crimes a backpack was left in plain view on the rear seat of the vehicle. I would like to remind you to secure your valuables including backpacks, purses, GPS, and I-Phones. It is not advised to leave these items in plain view. If you must leave something of value in your vehicle, remember to secure it in your trunk.
I am asking you to continue to encourage your neighbors, friends, and family to also receive alerts from their zone leader, from Santa Clarita Station, and from their local government agencies by visiting www.nixle.com
You can also track reported crime in your area by visiting www.crimemapping.com
Partner to prevent or report crime by contacting your Sheriff’s Station or if you wish to remain anonymous, call “LA Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
A free Tip Submit mobile application is now available for the iPhone® and Android™. The new software tool is an anonymous and fully featured crime tipping mobile application that even allows you to submit images or video. More information at www.tipsoft.com.
