Two injured in head-on collision:
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office is investigating a two car head-on crash which occurred on Pine Lake St near Mullen Rd, Jefferson Twp., Cass County, Michigan.
Emergency personnel from Cass County Sheriff's Office, Life Care Ambulance, Edwardsburg Fire/Ambulance, Memorial Medflight and Edwardsburg/Ontwa Twp PD responded to the crash scene.
Initial investigation shows that Kevin Miller, 51 yrs, of Niles, MI was eastbound on Pine Lake St. and that Lucas Luth, 29 yrs, of Edwardsburg, MI was westbound on Pine Lake St when the two vehicles collided. Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles by firefighters. Both vehicles air bags deployed and both drivers appeared to have been wearing seatbelts. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
Miller was transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash by Edwardsburg Ambulance. Luth was air lifted to South Bend Memorial for his injuries by Memorial MedFlight.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
