UPDATED : (2) Additional Arrests Made - Attempted Second Degree Murder

UPDATE:

Two (2) additional arrests have been made in this case.

Further investigation resulted in the arrests of, Vinson Peterson, 33 and Charmaine R. Ridley, 19 both of West Monroe.
Each was taken into custody without incident and then booked into the West Monroe Correctional Center. Vinson R. Peterson was booked for Domestic Abuse Battery and Charmaine R. Ridley was booked for Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property. They were later transferred to the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center and are currently being held in lieu of bond.

On 05-01-2012 at approximately 3:15pm West Monroe Police Department responded to several 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 300 block of Coleman Ave., in West Monroe.

Officers responded to the area, upon their arrival two victims were identified as having been struck by a vehicle and had significant injuries. As the investigation unfolded it was determined that the driver of the 1992 Toyota Camry, was 42 year old Charolet Y. Harper-Peterson of West Monroe. The investigation revealed she had intentionally struck the two victims with her vehicle as a result of an ongoing argument between her and her husband, Vinson Peterson.

The two victims who were injured in this incident were, 26 year old Nikita N. Riley and a bystander, 29 year old Lee Roy Warren both of West Monroe. Both victims were transported to the hospital as a result of the injuries they sustained.

As of 9:00am 05-02-2012 Nikita Riley was transported to LSU Shreveport and is expected to undergo surgery. Lee Roy Warren is currently listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Charolet Peterson was taken to the West Monroe Police Department by Detectives for questioning. She was subsequently placed under arrest for (2) counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder and booked into the West Monroe Correctional Center. She was later transferred to the Ouachita Parish Correctional Center and is currently awaiting bond.
