On 05/03/12 at approximately 3:16 PM the San Luis Obispo Police Department received a 911 call regarding a male subject exiting Golden 1 Credit Union with a gun and bag. The male subject was last seen running northbound towards Boysen St. Officers were dispatched to the area, established a perimeter and began searching for the suspect.
Bank employees stated at approximately 3:15 PM a Black or dark Hispanic male entered Golden 1 Credit Union carrying a handgun and told everyone in the bank to get on the ground. The suspect then handed a plastic bag to one of the bank employees and told him to place money in the bag. The suspect then exited the bank and was last seen running northbound from Golden 1 Credit Union. The suspect was described as a Black or dark Hispanic male, approximately 5’9” tall, with a stocky build. The suspect was described as wearing a dark hoodie sweatshirt, jeans, blue or purple tennis shoes and had a dark bandanna partially covering his face.
No one was hurt during the bank robbery and the approximate loss was $4000.00. Attached to this press release is a photo of the suspect which was taken from bank surveillance videos.
