On 5-2-12, at approximately 2:40 pm, San Luis Obispo Police Officers responded to the 1100 block of Orcutt regarding an interrupted residential burglary. Prior to the officer’s arrival the suspect threatened the home owner with a knife and fled the area on a bicycle. While searching the area, officers found Micah Edson in a nearby parking lot hiding in a pick-up truck. Edson was positively identified by the victim and placed under arrest.

During the search of Edson’s property he was found to be in possession of numerous items of stolen property including property taken from the Orcutt residence. Edson was also in possession of property stolen from two recent vehicle burglaries, as well as a commercial burglary. Small quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and additional drug paraphernalia were also found in Edson’s property and on his person.

Prior to this incident, San Luis Obispo Police Detectives were investigating Edson on charges of embezzlement from the UPS store on Foothill in SLO. Edson was also charged with this crime.

Edson was charged with the following charges.
• Residential Burglary
• Assault with a deadly weapon
• Possession of stolen property
• Possession of heroin and methamphetamine
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Embezzlement

Edson was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $50,000.00
