A Garland County man who allegedly injured his mother during a confrontation at their home Tuesday evening was arrested on a felony battery charge.
Keith Owen Fleming, 56, of 281 Echo Point, located off the 5600 block of Central Avenue, was taken into custody at his residence shortly after 6:30 p.m. and charged with second-degree domestic battery, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and a misdemeanor count of public intoxication.
The victim, Barbara Greenman, 83, who also lives there, was reportedly transported by LifeNet to National Park Medical Center for treatment of what was possibly a broken right hip.
According to a Garland County Sheriff’s Department report, deputies responded to the residence and found the victim lying on the ground complaining of pain to her hip.
The suspect, identified as Fleming, was reportedly yelling and cursing at the victim and there was a strong odor of intoxicants about his person.
The victim states she and her son had been arguing and at one point, the suspect pushed the victim down on the ground, which caused an unknown amount of damage due to her age.
Fleming was taken into custody and was still being held without bond Wednesday and is set to appear May 22 in Garland County District Court.
