R/A UDAA (CARJACKING)
Dearborn, MI. — On April 30, 2012 at approximately 12:15PM a female driver and her 91 year old father were traveling North on Southfield Freeway, near Michigan Ave, when they were bumped from behind by a white vehicle (Possibly a Chevy Malibu). After the collision occurred the female victim pulled over near Rotunda and Southfield to look at the accident damage and exchange insurance information. When the victim stopped she was approached by two Black Male subjects in their early twenties described as having medium builds, clean shaven and short hair. Both subjects produced handguns, which appeared to be semi-automatics, and ordered the victims to give them their property and the keys to their 2012 Ford Edge. The suspects stated they would shoot the victims if they did not comply. One suspect entered the victims 2012 Ford Edge and the other returned to the white vehicle. The suspects then fled the area possibly North on Southfield.
A short time later the stolen Ford Edge was involved in a hit and run accident at 8 Mile near Wyoming, at which time 3 black male subjects were observed running from the vehicle prior to the police arriving.
Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “This appears to be a random and senseless crime that will be subjected to all our investigative resources. Anyone with information that could assist in identifying the suspects involved in this incident is asked to please contact the Dearborn Police Department tip line at 313-943-3012 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.”
