On Friday, 27 April 2012 the Perth Amboy Police Special Investigations Bureau and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force with the assistance of the Carteret Police Department arrested Aura Y. Diaz, age 30 of 100 Roosevelt Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey for Possession of Cocaine.

Diaz was operating a green colored 1998 Toyota Camry when she was stopped by police. Police found Diaz in possession of approximately 62 grams of Cocaine, with an approximate street value of $6,200.00 along with $187.00 in cash. The Investigating Officers then conducted a consent search of Diaz’s apartment recovering an additional $1,700.00 in cash, a digital scale and narcotics paraphernalia.

Diaz was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over 1/2 ounce with the intent to distribute (2nd degree offence), possession with intent within 1000 feet of a school zone, possession with intent within 500 feet of a public housing complex and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. Bail was set by the Honorable Judge Allen Comba at $25,000.00 no 10% option.

A total of $1,887.00 in cash was seized along with the 1998 Toyota Camry. This investigation was lead by Detective Sergeant Carmelo Jimenez Jr.
